Solar and Battery

Overview

The Gold Series electromagnetic meters are available with internal batteries. Internal batteries have a life span of several years with limited telemetry data communications. The solar panel with integrated battery on a pole is a proven option for powering the Sapphire and Gold Series meter, with or without a Remote Telemetry Unit. The integrated unit on a pole requires a footing to address wind. The Remote Telemetry Unit has a second solar and battery option that can power meters and sensors. The battery is in the Remote Telemetry cabinet. It is a lower cost option with flexible installation, as the battery is not part of the solar panel. The external battery option for meters only requires a battery cabinet and separate solar panels. Similar to the Remote Telemetry option, it provides flexible mounting options, like on a wood post, U-Strut or fence.
